Discover the digital skills that will drive tomorrow's coolest communication, most imaginative innovations and most essential societal improvements. Go Code Girl is a free opportunity for girls and non-binary youth in Grades 7 - 10 to learn more about the rapidly-growing fields of technology, computing and software engineering. Meet women currently studying computer science, learn about some of the amazing things females in the field are doing, and participate in fun hands-on activities. 

Date: Saturday, February 1, 2025
Time: 9am - 1pm (day of registration opens 8:45am)
Location: UNBC Prince George campus - Starts at Teaching Lab Lobby - Building 8 (Map 2025)
Cost: Free including pizza lunch

•    08:45 AM – Day of Registration opens
•    09:00 AM – Arrival and Check-In 
•    09:05 AM – Welcome & Introduction
•    09:15 AM – Safety Briefing & Icebreaker Activity
•    10:00 AM – Activity 1: Understanding Binary Code using bracelet creation
•    10:30 AM – Activity 2: Computer Programming in Agriculture - Creating Soil Moisture Sensors using       MicroBits 
•    12:00 PM – Lunch Break
•    12:30 PM – Panel Discussion: Career Pathways in Computer Science and Audience Q&A with guests: Dr. Shruti Chandra (Assistant Professor - Computer Science) and Dr. Chinchu Cherian (Assistant Professor – Civil Engineering)
•    01:00 PM – Official Pick-Up Time
