ITS Maintenance Notice:Thursday, May 11th  || Time: 10:30pm

Windows Workstation patching (all desktops and laptops running Windows)

  • Windows Workstation Patching - Important information regarding the release and install of Software Security Updates for UNBC Workstations
  • Security Updates are available to install from Wednesday, May 10th at 12:30pm
  • Please follow restart instructions prior to the Thursday, May 11th at 10:30pm, when restarts will occur automatically

ITS Information Notice:Microsoft Teams – Explicit Recording Consent for Teams Meetings

Microsoft Teams now supports Explicit Recording Consent during meetings. When you join a Microsoft Teams meeting, you will be prompted with a window ‘your org requires consent’, if you do not give your consent then your audio, video and screenshare/content-share won’t be captured In the meeting recording.

Note: Your audio, video, and screenshare/content-share will be disabled during the meeting until you provide your consent.

ITS Information Notice: New Zoom Meeting Join Flow

Zoom is simplifying the process of joining meetings by combining the Join before host and Waiting room features into one button. This feature will be enabled for everyone May 20 2023, for anyone running Zoom version 5.12.0 or newer. If someone has an older version than 5.12.0, there will be no impact to the functionality of your meeting.

The Waiting Room will display the meeting’s status as either “Waiting for host to start the meeting” or “Host has joined. We’ve let them know you’re here.” In addition, in the video preview and waiting room, you now have the option to turn on/off your camera and mic.
