This award has been established in memory of Susan Janet Robertson (UNBC alumna, MSc 2003; PhD 2008), whose life and career were cut short by Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) in 2019. Susan’s interests in science and research were numerous but she was especially fascinated by the complexities of microbial ecology of forest soils and the human microbiome. Her family, friends and colleagues have chosen to remember her and her work by establishing an undergraduate student research prize.
Dr. Susan Robertson Undergraduate Thesis Prize ($1000). Awarded for the best thesis presented by an undergraduate student enrolled in NRES 430 or ENSC 430 at the annual undergraduate thesis event organized by the Natural Resources and Environmental Studies Institute (NRESi), normally at the end of each Winter (January) semester.
The Institute invites its members and the wider community to join it in supporting the Susan Robertson Prize Fund. Donations can be made through the UNBC Office of University Advancement. Please visit the UNBC Giving website for more information on how to send in donations. When submitting your donation, please specify that you would like your gift to be contributed to the “Susan Robertson Gift Fund.”
