Northern Medical Program celebrates Class of 2017 graduation

NMP Graduation 2017

Congratulations to our Northern Medical Program Class of 2017 who are marking the end of four years of medical undergraduate studies!

As part of NMP graduation tradition, the 25 graduates received their wood shingle and their long coat at a special celebration in Prince George to mark their transition from students to doctors. They will now move into two to seven years of medical residency and fellowship training, depending on specialty.

The Class of 2017 includes 10 graduates from Northern BC.

Fourteen of the graduates will enter family medicine residency programs; of those, four are training in Prince George and one will train in Terrace (Rural Northwest).

In addition, one graduate will be entering a psychiatry residency in Prince George.

The Northern Medical Program graduation celebration precedes the formal graduation for the students, taking place at UBC on May 24th, at which they will receive their official medical degrees.

The Northern Medical Program is a distributed program site of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), delivered in partnership with UNBC.

Meet some of our recent graduates!
