What attracted you to your field?
Family Practice naturally suits my character. I have always been a generalist, and the broad scope of rural practice presents an appealing challenge. I am looking forward to being a Family Doctor in B.C’s Northwest, where a healthy work-life balance is mandatory.

In 10 years, what UBC or NMP moment will you still be talking about?
I feel very lucky our class was so close, especially during our first two years in Prince George. I lived with friends in a house dubbed “Danger Bay” and every month or so we would host a potluck. The whole class was apt to attend, which made for good conversation, great people, and spectacular food.

What’s next for you?
This July I am heading back to Terrace to start a rural Family Practice Residency. In the meantime, I have plans to ride my bicycle from Victoria to Port Hardy. I will spend the rest of the summer in Prince Rupert, hopefully getting some time on the ocean with my fiancé.

As you look ahead, what (or who) inspires you?
At the moment I am feeling inspired by my friends and future colleagues. The last four years have been demanding and we have all had to make sacrifices for the sake of this career. Regardless, we have made it past a formidable milestone!

Name one thing on your bucket list.
I have got to say, life is pretty good right now. The only thing that would make things exponentially better would be to have our home renovation finished! But there is always residency…
