Requests and Renewals

Requests

Requests, also known as holds, may be completed directly from the item's display record. Your campus login or library barcode login are required.

  • Requests may be placed for items from the library’s general collection.
  • The requested item will be placed in the Request Pick-Up area of the Course Reserves Room for 7 days before being returned to the collection.

All registered patrons can place a request on an item that is currently checked out. Please see Recalls for more information.

Recalls

Items from the general collection are guaranteed a three-week loan period. After that they may be recalled.

"Recalled" means that an item already on loan has been requested by another patron and must be returned.

If an item is recalled:

  • You will receive an email notice alerting that an item was recalled and the item must be returned.
  • The new due date for recalled items is 7 days from the time the notice is sent. This may be shortened for items needed for Course Reserves.
