In July 2003, the McLure Fire burned through several watersheds north of Kamloops, B.C., including Fishtrap Creek. This fire had significant implications for a number of human communities in the vicinity. In addition, there was a number of questions raised relating to the appropriate steps to take from a land management perspective after the fire. The primary objective of the Fishtrap Creek Watershed Project was to document the changes in channel morphology, hydrology, sediment sources, and sediment transport dynamics in the aftermath of the fire. Results from this research  should provide a better understanding of the mechanisms of hydrogeomorphic response to vegetation disturbance.
