Integrated Watershed Research Group publishes 10 years of collaborative, interdisciplinary, and innovative research in watershed

It is with immense pleasure that the Integrated Watershed Research Group (IWRG) comes to announce that it has published its most recent article in the Plos Water Journal: Towards an Integrative Understanding of British Columbia’s Nechako Watershed: Connecting Knowledge Systems to Strengthen Understanding of Climate Change, watershed security, health and well-being.

Castle Creek Glacier

Drs.. Owens and Déry of the IWRG have teamed up with other UNBC Faculty, staff and students in a comprehensive study of the current state and future fate of glaciers in BC and Alberta, with particular emphasis on the Castle Creek Glacier, near McBride BC. Stephen has established a weather station in proximity of the glacer (part of his Cariboo Alpine Mesonet) to provide valuable weather data for this study. Dr Owens and others have examined the hydro-meteorological drivers and the dynamics of suspended sediment in the forefield of the Castle Creek glacier.
