The Restorative Relations and Student Supports (RR&SS) department embraces opportunities to build and maintain healthy relationships at UNBC. We engage with the community by:

  • Liaising with UNBC service departments.
  • Partnering with staff, faculty, and students in event planning and development.
  • Participating and attending community-building initiatives.
  • Hosting meet and greets to learn about other departments while sharing about the RR&SS team.

If you are interested in connecting or would like to partner for an event, reach out to connectu@unbc.ca

Create just and equitable environments

Here are some examples of our team's efforts to promote justice and equity at UNBC:

  • Facilitating restorative justice workshops for staff, faculty, and students.
  • Creating campus-wide educational training modules.
  • Recognizing points of intersectionality and taking steps to address inequities.
  • Coaching and consultation on restorative justice practices and approaches.
  • Embedding restorative practices in UNBC policies and procedures.

Repair harm and transform conflict

Restorative practices are always presented as an option. When harm is caused, restorative approaches make space for a collaborative process in which all the parties involved would have the ability to identify needs, explore impacts, and define the next steps towards reparation.
