McBride is a small, friendly, quiet farming community. McBride is on the traditional territory of the Simpcw First Nation.
The McBride & District Hospital provides a full range of services. Physicians in McBride work closely with physicians in nearby Valemount, to support one another, and learners in one community may have opportunities to gain experience in the other.
McBride is situated in a wide mountain valley, between the Canadian Rockies and the Cariboo Mountains, next to the Fraser River. Access to outdoor recreation is abundant, and in the winter several surrounding mountains cater to snowmobilers.
