ITS Maintenance Notice: April 1st to April 7th

ITS Maintenance/Information for this week:
This is your weekly digest of system maintenance/information and downtime. All notices are also posted on the myUNBC Student Portal (Ellucian Experience) under resources, gounbc.sharepoint.com for Employees, support.unbc.ca and on unbc.ca /its. Please see one of these locations for maintenance notices.

ALL Windows Server Security Patching- Wednesday, April 2nd || Time: 10:00pm  TONIGHT

Due to a vulnerability ITS will be patching outside of the normal maintenance schedule. 

  • All servers are impacted.
  • Virtual desktops will also be unavailable during patching.

Palo Alto Patching- Thursday, April 3rd 

  • Updates to the firewall on VPN3 requires a VPN Outage starting at 5:00pm for up to 1 hour. Limited amount of users have been notified.
  • Updates to the firewall on VPN2 will cause Network Interruptions starting at 10:00pm for up to 4 hours. 

Important Note: During an outage of the Firewall on VPN 2, the network is functionally offline. All access to UNBC resources will be unavailable.
