The UNBC performance evaluation process was designed to enable a dialogue between the employee and their supervisor. The process can be used for all employee groups, and provides an opportunity to clarify job responsibilities, expectations, progress and opportunities for development.
The performance feedback process may be completed at any time, but ideally at least once a year.
This process is not intended for use in disciplinary matters.

Faculty evaluation
On an annual basis, faculty members are to complete a summary of their teaching, research, supervisory accomplishments for the year.

Employee recognition
UNBC recognizes the outstanding efforts of employees over the course of each year with the President's Award for Service Excellence or Creative Initiative.
Employees are nominated for these awards by their colleagues, peers and/or supervisors.
