Born from a Northern Health and UNBC partnership, this conference is a forum enhanced with resources and skill development workshops to share health and health services research, evaluation, evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives in the North. It has been designed to profile Northern BC research, evaluation, and quality initiatives and will provide formal learning as well as informal opportunities for participants to learn from each other.

Objectives:
- Celebrate and share research, quality improvement, evaluation, and implementation of evidence in a northern and rural context.
- Support the development of research, quality improvement, evaluation, patient centric research and evidence-informed practice.
- Facilitate networking and knowledge sharing of all stakeholders, including patients.
- Inspire new ideas, encourage diverse partnerships, and broaden the involvement of various people invested in the health of Northerners.

Call for Abstracts (Notification Only)
The call for abstracts for the 2025 Northern BC Research and Quality Conference will be opening soon on topics of health research, evaluation, or quality improvement initiatives (up to 300 words).
*Please note: Abstracts are not being accepted at this time. Please do not email them! Stay tuned for a Submission Form as well as a submission date.
Who should apply? Researchers, students, health authority employees, health care practitioners, patient partners, and community organizations.
Abstract Support – First time presenters are welcome! Please contact hri@unbc.ca if you have an idea for a presentation or poster and would like support with the abstract submission.
Abstracts will be accepted for oral, storyboard/poster, and workshop presentations:
Oral Presentation: The majority of the conference is dedicated to oral presentations. Each oral presenter will have up to 15 minutes to present their work and 5 minutes for questions. Abstracts submitted for an oral presentation may subsequently be considered as a poster presentation, if not accepted for the oral format. If applicable, we encourage you to co-present with the patient partner(s) involved.
Storyboard/Poster Rapid-Fire Presentations: Digital posters will be presented as concurrent sessions and will be done in a Rapid-Fire style (A rapid-fire presentation consists of short three-minute presentations with time for questions afterward.) The schedule for the poster presentations will be confirmed after the call for abstracts is completed. Assistance with poster design is available, please email hri@unbc.ca.
Workshop: October 22nd will be dedicated to pre-conference workshops. A review committee will select workshops for the conference. Satellite locations will be considered and can be hosted in-person or virtually.
