Accessing Guest Wi-Fi at UNBC
UNBC Wi-Fi may be accessed in two ways:
- If you are an employee of an organization that uses eduroam, connect using your home institutions credentials.
- Gaining access to an organization’s Wi-Fi network using eduroam:
- Connect to the eduroam wireless network (eduroam SSID).
- Connect using your username and append an @ symbol and the domain name of your institution. Example: username@yourinstitution.ca
- At UNBC that would be username@unbc.ca. This looks like an email address but it is not; it is just a method to indicate your user ID and institution.
- When connecting you will need to use an email address provided by your institution in the username field and your institutional password in the password field.
- The first time you connect to eduroam, you will be prompted to verify a security certificate. Once verified, you won’t have to verify the certificate on future connections.
- For all other guests at the UNBC Prince George campus, please register with the self-service wireless access. To register for UNBC Guest WiFi you will need access to your email from a data connection.
- Once you are on campus, please connect to the wireless network called “UNBC- Guest Sign-up”.
- Enter your email address and name.
- Check your email for an Access Code
- Connect your PC, tablet, or smartphone to the WiFi network “UNBCGuest” using the instructions provided by your device manufacturer.
- Enter the access key (password).
