Meal Plans & Meal Deals Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to pre-paid Meal Plans and Meal Deals - please read carefully.

Meal Plans for Students Living on Campus

All undergraduate students who have earned fewer than 60 UNBC recognized credit hours, who choose to live in Residence, are choosing to participate in the mandatory Meal Plan as outlined in Article 12.0 of the Residence Contract.

Students who have questions or concerns related to food allergies or specific dietary requirements (medical, cultural, religious, lifestyle, personal preference, other), should contact the Food Services Director to discuss how the Meal Plan can accommodate their dietary need. Email us at fooddirector@unbc.ca.

While we strive to address dietary requests, please be advised UNBC Food Services may not be able to accommodate ALL needs and preferences. No refund or reduction in the Meal Plan fee(s) will be considered due to dietary restrictions.

Undergraduate students who have earned less than 60 UNBC recognized credit hours are required to select a 7 or 5 day mandatory Meal Plan. The Meal Plan fee will be applied to student accounts each semester with payment due at the same time as Housing fees.

The Meal Plan is considered active from the official move-in day each semester and fees will be applied whether used or not. Choosing to not use the Meal Plan will not exempt students from fees.

Students who achieve 60 UNBC credit hours partway through the academic year must email Housing and Residence Life at housing@unbc.ca if they wish to be removed from the mandatory Meal Plan.

Undergraduate students who have earned more than 60 UNBC recognized credit hours and all Graduate level students can choose to purchase a Meal Plan - it is not mandatory. Meal Plans can be purchased by selecting a 7 or 5 day Meal Plan during the Housing Application and the fee will be applied to the student account each semester with payment due at the same time as Housing fees.

The Meal Plan is considered active from the official move-in day each semester. Fees will be applied whether used or not. Choosing to not use the Meal Plan will not exempt students from fees. To make changes to your non-mandatory Meal Plan selection email housing@unbc.ca from your UNBC student email account.

Your university-issued ID is activated as the Meal Plan card and must be presented to the cashier in order to access the Agora Dining Hall. Lost or stolen cards are to be reported immediately. Withdrawals

Mandatory Meal Plan
Students who move-out of Residence may be eligible for a partial refund of the mandatory Meal Plan fee pending approved early termination as per the Residence Contract. Early terminations resulting from a breach of compliance to the terms of the Residence Contract are not eligible for a refund.

Non-Mandatory Meal Plan
Students must email housing@unbc.ca to request withdrawal from a non-mandatory meal plan. Withdrawals received prior to the first effective date of the Meal Plan will be fully refunded.
