ID card purpose
Your UNBC ID is used:
- As a key card to access certain rooms and labs
- To access services from the Geoffrey R. Weller (UNBC) Library.
- To release printing jobs and make copies/scans using Papercut for self-serve printing/copying on campus. Training guides for Papercut printing.
Additional services for students:
- As a key card for students residing in UNBC Housing,
- To access on campus Food Services at the Agora Dining Hall (Meal Plan/Meal Deal) and Dining Dollars
- For students studying on Prince George Campus, access to the Aquatic Centre and Canfor Leisure Pool
- For students studying on South-Central Campus in Quesnel, access to the Arts and Recreation Centre
- To sign up as a member with the Northern Sport Centre
Only students enrolled in a course taking place on the Prince George campus will be automatically applied the Intramural Recreation and Fitness Fee. This includes a membership to the NSC and Intramural programming offered by UNBC Athletics each semester,
Registered students, who have not been applied the fee but would like to access the Northern Sport Centre (NSC) facility and fitness services, may proceed to the NSC front desk to sign up and pay $62.93 (plus tax) for a UNBC Student Fitness pass. Please note a $10 (including tax), non-refundable access key fee applies.
Upload your photo
For new or replacement cards, upload your photo through OneWeb or TouchNet 360u mobile app. If a photo exists in the system for you, a $15 card replacement fee may apply if you decide to print a physical card at the Cashier Office.
- For access to your OneWeb account.
- Using your UNBC credentials, sign in to my.unbc.ca on the Discover page, search for “UNBC ID Card”, then click on “Manage ID online”
- Upload your photo.
- From the dashboard, select Personal Settings.
- Select ‘Update Photo’.
- Review the digital photo guidelines for UNBC ID cards.
- Select Upload, then choose a file from your computer
- Crop & rotate to adjust the photo framing, if necessary.
- Click on Submit when you are ready to complete your photo upload.
UNBC is collecting your photo in order to generate your ID card. We are authorized to collect this information under section 26(c) of FOIPPA. If you have any questions about the collection of your information, please contact claudia.barreira@unbc.ca.

Digital photo guidelines for UNBC ID cards
- Colour digital photograph.
- Must show your whole head and the tops of your shoulders.
- Plain white background.
- Head coverings (e.g. hats, headphones or masks) are not allowed unless worn for religious beliefs or medical reasons.
- Eyes are clearly visible, with no red eye.
- Sunglasses may not be worn, but glasses are okay as long as your eyes are clearly visible.
- Smiling is allowed
- Photograph must reflect current appearance.
- Photograph must not be altered in any way, but may be cropped prior to submission.
- .jpg file format.
- The minimum size of the photo should be Width: 300 pixels. Height: 300 pixels. If the photo is larger than: Width: 1200 pixels Height 1200 pixels, it will be resized to these dimensions.
- The system is configured to use aspect ratio 1:1
Once your photo is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Administrator. If any adjustments are necessary, you will be notified by email; otherwise, your photo will automatically upload to your OneWeb and 360u profile.
Please allow 3-5 business days for your 360u virtual ID to update and the creation and printing of your UNBC ID card. For cardholders at UNBC Prince George campus, the Cashier Office will email you when your ID card is ready for pick-up. For cardholders at the other UNBC campus locations, the Student Success Coordinator will email you when your ID card is ready for pick-up.
ID card pick-up requirements
You must pick up your UNBC ID card in person at the Cashier Office, and you are required to present a government issued photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport) in order to receive it. Undergraduate and graduate students must be registered in classes. For all students, tuition and fees must be paid in full, or payments arranged with Accounts Receivable office accountsreceivable@unbc.ca prior to picking up your card.
The Cashier Office does not mail out UNBC ID cards.
Replacement cards
If your card is lost, stolen, or damaged there is a $15 replacement fee to have a new UNBC ID card issued. For students, please email idphoto-submit@unbc.ca including your name, student number, and the reason why you require a new ID card.
International student ID card from the Canadian Federation of Students
If you are an undergraduate student and would like a student ID card that also provides you access to student discounts in Canada and around the world, you can order a free international student identity card. This card is available to full-time students as a benefit of the Northern Undergraduate Student Society's membership with the Canadian Federation of Students.
You can order your free virtual ISIC online. If you wish to have a plastic ISIC for your wallet, there is an option to pay $5 to have one printed and sent to you (plus any shipping/handling charges).
