Tuition and fees

Student responsibilities

The obligation to pay fees for a course or program is incurred upon registration and all fees are due and payable the first day of the semester (please refer to the UNBC Academic Calendar for all important dates). Late registration and any additional fees owing as a result of changes in a student’s registration and/or other student activities are due on the day the charges are incurred unless otherwise indicated.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their account balance is in good standing at all times. All financial information is readily available on myUNBC Student Account. Students can email Accounts Receivable at accountsreceivable@unbc.ca or call 250-960-6390. You can contact the Cashier’s Office at cashier@unbc.ca or call 250-960-5631 during regular business hours.

Students who are experiencing temporary financial difficulties may contact UNBC if they are unable to pay in full by the first day of each semester. Students can email Accounts Receivable at accountsreceivable@unbc.ca or call 250-960-6390. Students are responsible to propose a payment arrangement that is acceptable to UNBC, where the student account is paid in full by or before the last day of classes each semester. All payments are due to UNBC on the dates agreed to in the arrangement. Students that do not follow the terms and conditions of their approved payment arrangement and hold an overdue balance at the last day of class will automatically be de-registered from all future semesters. All overdue accounts, including those with payment arrangements in place, are subject to UNBC’s overdue policy.

Students who fail to pay their fees by the due date, or withdraw or otherwise leave the University, remain liable for unpaid accounts. The University may take legal action or use an external collection agency to recover unpaid accounts. Legal costs incurred by the University in this process would be added to a student's account.

NOTE: Students are responsible for regularly verifying their account balance.

The University reserves the right to make changes without prior notice to the published fees.
