UNBC researcher helps advance understanding of global glacier loss

As a leading scientist in the areas of understanding glacier change and climate change in western Canada, Earth Sciences Professor Dr. Brian Menounos collaborated with colleagues around the world to produce a clear and concerning picture of the health of the Earth's glaciers.

UNBC appoints two Research Chairs in partnership with Rio Tinto

An enhanced collaboration with Rio Tinto will build on an initial research program started in 2019 and support two UNBC researchers in efforts to deepen understanding of the impacts of climate change and human activity on water security and freshwater fish ecology in the Nechako Watershed.

Voices of justice and memory in Guatemala

A field school in Guatemala led by Geography Professor Dr. Catherine Nolin examined human rights violations, historical memory and Canada’s role in global justice. The experience resulted in an academic paper and a StoryMap amplifying the voices of Guatemalan people.
