Timeline for Application Review
Admission decisions will be sent out after the program has finished reviewing your application. Before we send an application to a program for decision, the Admissions Officers in the Office of the Registrar assess the application first. As we move closer to our deadlines, our volume of applications increases substantially. The time from point of application to receiving a decision varies widely. Some programs review applications on an ongoing basis and others will meet after the January admission deadline to review applications.
In general, we will normally begin to receive admission decisions from programs in late February and through the month of March (depending on the program's review schedule). If you have not received an admission decision by April, feel free to reach out to FutureGradStudents@unbc.ca to inquire about the status of your application.
Accessing your Admission Decision
Once your admission decision is ready, you will receive an invitation to sign up for our Applicant Dashboard so that you can view your decision. It's a good idea to make sure your email account is not sending messages from FutureGradStudents@unbc.ca to your spam folder. To sign up for the Dashboard, you will need your UNBC email address. To find out more about UNBC email accounts, visit this website.
With your Dashboard account, you can view your admission decision and print/save a copy:
If you have an admission decision ready, you will see a yellow envelope icon in your main landing page. Click to navigate to your letter.

Depending on your program, there are important sections in the letter that will require further action on your part.
International Applicants
Your admission letter is two parts. The first is the letter and the second is a supplemental form for your study permit application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. To access your form, click the link. The form will open in a new browser window as a PDF and you will be able to download a copy. Depending on your computer, you may also be able to right click the link and save link as a PDF.
