Grow with us as we embark on northern British Columbia’s most ambitious cultural, educational and recreational garden project in 30 years.

In partnership with UNBC, the David Douglas Botanical Garden Society is developing an 11-plus hectare garden at the campus entrance.

The Expansion Project is an expansion of the 1.6-hectare garden located in the heart of UNBC’s campus and will serve as a multi-use hub of research, recreation, respite and community growth, complete with:

  • A visitor centre home to a classroom, gift shop, botanical library and reception space
  • Various themed ornamental display gardens
  • Feature walkway with overhead arbours and trellises
  • Wetland area with viewing platforms
  • Hands-on research garden for UNBC faculty and students
