The web team in Communications and Marketing has implemented a web governance tool at UNBC called Siteimprove. This tool assists in website quality assurance. Siteimprove is cloud-based software available to all UNBC web editors that helps facilitate the content auditing process.

The web team develops and maintains the standards for navigation menus on the UNBC website. This includes the global navigation in the headers and footers, as well as the left menus in each section of the website (i.e. local menus). We consider things such as terminology that makes sense to our users, placement of links that are common across different sections, and content that does not belong in the menu.

When adding a new link to a local menu, the web page needs to be built and published first.
