Dr. Brydon Blacklaws

Dr. Brydon Blacklaws has joined the Northern Medical Program as Simulation Lead as of June 1st, 2017.

Brydon’s main objective is to work with respective DSSLs to develop a Simulation Curriculum for the undergraduate medical program at UNBC. He will also liaise with the Family Medicine residency program, and is in the process of training more than 30 new physician SIM instructors for Northern BC.

Brydon is a born and raised West Coaster, lucky enough to have grown up around the sea and the multiple rivers that pour into it. His medical interest was sparked while serving with the British Army, and carried on through several years spent with Canadian Field Ambulance units in both Victoria and Halifax. He completed his MD and CCFP-EM at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.

Brydon is a full-time emergency physician in Prince George and is passionate about medical education. He is the recipient of a 2017 UBC Post Graduate Teaching Award and regularly lectures on the topics of trauma, toxicology, and bedside ultrasound. Brydon and his young family are excited to have survived their first year in ‘The North’ and are looking forward to continuing a contribution within the vibrant medical community at UNBC.
