The William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition is the most prestigious mathematical competition in North America, open to all students in USA and Canada. UNBC students of very good to excellent standing in math courses are strongly encouraged to register and write the exam in December. There are two sessions (8-11am and 1-4 pm) with a lunch for all participants after the first session. It is possible to write just one session, but then the chances for a good score are reduced. There are money prizes for the top scorers. A good performance adds weight to a graduate application for any mathematics or computer science graduate program.
Cost
The registration and participation are free.
Registration deadline
Registration occurs early October.
