What is Return-to-Work Planning?
Return-to-Work planning is a collaborative effort involving the employee, UNBC Employee Wellbeing, the Department, and sometimes the Union and/or insurance providers (e.g. Sun Life). If an employee is returning from a leave involving WorkSafe BC, then they will also be involved.
The goal of this process is to create a plan that supports a safe, functional, and sustainable return-to-work for the employee. The plan may involve temporary or permanent accommodations, depending on the employee’s specific situation.
If you are planning to return to work after a significant period of leave and/or foresee any functional barriers upon your return, please contact Employee Wellbeing if you have not done so already. Our team is available to support you through this process.
