As the pace of change continues to accelerate and the business environment becomes more complex and uncertain, leaders frequently find themselves under pressure to make critical decisions often with little information and time, and to produce results. How a leader reacts in these challenging situations has a direct impact on their personal and team productivity, their relationships with colleagues and business performance.

To increase success, leaders need to improve their self-awareness and identify and implement strategies to manage their emotions and reactions to consistently produce more positive outcomes.

Utilizing the EQi-2.0 Model of Emotional Intelligence and your own personalized EQi profile, this course will help you understand your leadership potential and derailers as well as techniques to develop your emotional intelligence.

Maximizing your Emotional Intelligence can be completed as a stand-alone course or as an elective within the Executive Leadership Associate Certificate.

About the instructor - Adrienne Serrao

With over 20 years of coaching and facilitation experience, Adrienne brings a wealth of expertise in leadership development and communications. She creates a safe and nurturing space for participants to experiment and gain confidence as they develop strong skills. 

Having worked with a variety of audiences from the corporate, non-profit and government sectors, Adrienne’s highly collaborative and energetic style keep audiences engaged. She holds a MA in Leadership and Organization Development, is an ICF-certified coach and is certified in the EQI 2.0 assessment.

Learning Outcomes

  • Describe the challenges facing leaders today.
  • Define Emotional Intelligence (EI).
  • Explain the importance of EI in today’s business environment.
  • Identify personal strengths and development opportunities in relation to EI and how they influence the success of a 21st century leader.
  • Describe and implement tactics for developing EI.

Course Requirements

Students must have a computer with a webcam in order to attend class and participate in exercises and knowledge checks. Students are required to attend at least 80% of class time.

Course Prerequisites

As a prerequisite to participating in this course, learners complete the EQi-2.0 Emotional Intelligence psychometric assessment and receive a detailed report on their personal results. This is provided shortly before the course and is included in the price (value: $220).
