What is THE Campus+?

THE Campus+ is a knowledge-sharing platform that provides resources for academics around the world. UNBC members can access resources and advice on teaching and learning, research, early career advice, student success and much more.


Contributing to THE Campus+

UNBC faculty, staff and students are invited to contribute opinion pieces, written resources, and/or videos related to the key areas of practice for advice.

Special themes

THE Campus+ also invites videos or written work on special themes. UNBC will share these “spotlights” with faculty and staff. Written and video material must be suitable for open access or open educational resources.

A core topic covering online, hybrid and in-person teaching and learning strategies.
Topics include how universities can embed sustainability into curricula, research, campus activities and institutional culture; how they can generate a positive impact in their communities beyond their campuses and student bodies; how to foster intersectionality that’s effective in making progress towards the SDGs; how to be a zero-carbon campus.
This could include how to successfully support foreign students studying both on campus and overseas; establishing mutually beneficial international collaborations in research, teaching and sustainability and impact projects; how students, faculty and administrators can navigate transnational education; how to do internationalization at home, well; what to do when your students fall short of language requirements.
Advice to help early career researchers develop and “pitch” research ideas; how to get published; how to manage time demands; how to apply for funding; how to determine how many hours a week you should be working; and making sure you don’t lose sight of self-care during the gruelling PhD years.
Targeting the senior members of research teams at your institution and providing insight on setting research priorities; whether to maximize metrics or impact of research; managing IP contracts and disputes; data management; how to establish mutually beneficial links with industry; how to respond to the post-COVID-19 landscape of university research.
A focus on the practical challenges of meeting your institution’s EDI goals. Some topics include what to do when you get EDI wrong; how to develop a strategy that works for your campus; how to ensure EDI is everyone’s responsibility, not just the impassioned few; confronting cancel culture; how to write diversity statements.
Student cohorts are increasingly diverse in their needs and objectives. Here, universities share how they are working in new ways to help them enter, progress in and complete a university degree.
Strategic insight and guidance to assist higher education institutions in leveraging the benefits of technology – from artificial intelligence to campus infrastructure.
Leaders from across the globe working at every level of an institution share how they approach policy, institutional culture, branding and community collaboration.
