UNBC President to Discuss Plans for the Future

Media Release

December 10, 2009

The President of the University of Northern British Columbia will be hosting a town hall-style community meeting at the Prince George Civic Centre on Monday, December 14. Dr. George Iwama will describe UNBC’s planning process and some of his ideas for the next five years. He will also listen to feedback and take questions from community members. All are welcome.

“The current planning process is based on the University’s history, previous plans, and collective vision for the future,” says Dr. Iwama. “I know northerners are passionate about their university, and I am looking forward to hearing from them in person. By early in the new year, we will have a renewed vision for UNBC’s future.”

Dr. Iwama began his duties in July of this year and was officially sworn in as UNBC’s fourth president on October 16.

The event will run from 6pm until 10pm. For more information, visit www.unbc.ca/plan.

Dr. George Iwama will be available to take media calls on December 14, between 10:30am-11:30am at 250.960.5600.
