New Terrace Campus Hosts Information Session for Prospective Students

The University of Northern British Columbia’s new campus in Terracewill be hosting the most comprehensive information session ever hostedin the Northwest. On February 12, any local residents interested inuniversity offerings will be welcome to visit the campus and meet witha number of UNBC representatives, including President, Don Cozzetto.

“We’re so proud of our new campus and we’re excited to show it off tothe community,” says Judith Lapadat, Chair of UNBC’s operations in theNorthwest.

This fall, UNBC will offer the following programs in the Northwest region:
•    Bachelor and Master of Social Work
•    Bachelor and Master of Education
•    Bachelor of Nursing
•    Bachelor of Arts (minors in Anthropology, English, Geography, Environmental Studies, and English)
•    Aboriginal Teacher Education Bridging program
•    Education Diploma in a First Nations Language & Culture
•    Certificate or diploma in First Nations Studies

“We’ve been particularly responsive to local residents who areinterested in professional programs, providing them with localopportunities to become a teacher, nurse, or social worker,” says UNBCPresident, Don Cozzetto. “I’m looking forward to meeting students inTerrace.”

“This fall, we’ll be offering more programming in this region than everbefore,” adds Dr. Lapadat. “But this info session won’t just be forstudents interested in local options. There will also berepresentatives from Prince George-based programs such as the NorthernMedical Program, the MBA, and Continuing Studies. This event will be ofinterest to high school students who are exploring theirpost-graduation options, but increasingly, university education isbeing sought by students of all ages and backgrounds.”

The new UNBC campus is located at 4837 Keith Avenue. The informationsession for prospective students will be held between noon – 2pm andfrom 7 – 9pm on Monday, February 12.
