Senior officials from 13 universities are visiting Prince Georgestarting this weekend to participate in an annual benchmarkingconference hosted by the Association of Commonwealth Universities atUNBC. Delegates have come from Jamaica, Botswana, South Africa,England, Wales, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.

The Commonwealth Universities’ benchmarking program started ten yearsago and is geared to promoting effective management at universities andproviding tools to measure improvements in operations and services.This year, the main topics are developing management capacity,allocating resources, and university fundraising operations. Theconference has never before been held at UNBC and 30 delegates areattending.

UNBC first participated in the benchmarking program in 2003.

The conference wraps up on August 23.
