On Friday, August 5, Alcan Inc. will be announcinga major contribution to the Northern Medical Programs Trust. The announcementwill begin at 9:30am in Council Chambers at Terrace City Halland involve representatives of Alcan and the University:

- Cynthia Carroll, Senior Vice-President of AlcanInc. and President & CEO of Alcan Primary Metal

- Marco Palmieri, President, Primary Metal, Asia Pacific

- Charles Jago, President, University of Northern British Columbia

The Northern Medical Programs Trust (NMPT) is a partnershipof northern communities with UNBC to support the Northern Medical Program (NMP)and its future students. More than 20 northern communities have partnered withUNBC, with an understanding that training and retaining health careprofessionals in the North is the best strategy for ensuring a long-termsolution to the physician shortage in Northern communities.
