Nadrazsky to be on the Roster this Weekend

Forward Alex Nadrazsky of the UNBC Northern Timberwolveswill be on the roster this weekend for UNBC’s varsity basketball games in Prince George.

“Alex missed last weekend’s game against the University Collegeof the Cariboo because he participated in the All-Native Basketball Tournamentin Prince Rupert,”says Zane Robison, Head Coach of the UNBC men’s basketball team. “Alex has metwith me and his teammates and we all support Alex in remaining with the team.The All-Native Tournament is important for building sport and culture in theFirst Nations community, and we’ll be investigating how to recognize thistournament to better accommodate our players and our team. We also expect thatour student-athletes will be committed to the Northern Timberwolves and to attending classes. Alex has re-affirmed hiscommitment to the team and to completing his coursework. Our program takes theacademic side of being an athlete very seriously.”

The Northern Timberwolves are in action this weekend againstLangara and Capilano Colleges. On Friday, UNBCwill be hosting the Langara Falcons at 6:30pm (women) and 8:15pm (men). OnSaturday, the games against the Capilano Blues will be at 6pm and 8pm. With arecord of 8 wins and 6 losses, the UNBC men’s basketball team is currently infifth place in the BC Colleges Athletic Association. The women are in thirdposition in the standings with a record of 10-4 and have clinched a playoffspot. If the men’s team wins both games, they will clinch a berth in theplayoffs. The playoffs are March 3-5 at CapilanoCollege in North Vancouver.
