UNBC Seeks Initial Bids For
New Construction Projects
March 4, 2003 For Immediate Release
The first contract for new construction projects at the University of Northern British Columbia is now open for bids. Contractors interested in bidding on the site clearing and grubbing project have until 2pm (local time) on Friday, March 14th to submit their quotes.
The project will see nearly an acre of land cleared at the north end of the campus to make way for the future construction of the Lab extension, Research and Development Park, and Northern Health Sciences Centre (the facility that will house the Northern Medical Program). Future tenders will be issued for more detailed site preparation and construction.
The three new buildings will add just over 100,000 square feet of space to the campus. Two of the buildings - the Lab extension and the Northern Health Sciences Centre - are expected to be complete by the Fall of 2004, while the new Research and Development Park, being built by the AXOR Group, is expected to be finished by the end of 2003.
