UNBC Kicks Off Basketball Season With Best-ever National Rankings

After beginning with a successful pre-season and back-to-back regular-season wins, the University of Northern British Columbia Northern Timberwolves men's and women's basketball teams have both received their highest-ever national rankings.
The men's team is ranked #3 nationwide, the highest of any collegiate team in British Columbia. The women's team has been ranked 13th, the first time the women's squad has ever cracked the national ranking. The rankings have been issued by the Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association. Both UNBC teams are in Kamloops this weekend to face the University College of the Cariboo.
The home-opener for the Northern Timberwolves will be November 15th and 16th. On Friday, the T'wolves will take on Okanagan University College of Kelowna at 6:30pm (women) and 8:15pm (men). On Saturday, last year's national champion from the University College of the Fraser Valley will be visiting Prince George. Games will be at 6pm (women) and 8pm (men).
