Upcoming Public Presentations

The University of Northern British Columbia will be hosting a number of public presentations over the next few weeks.
· The Political Science program and the Political Science Student Association are presenting three talks from provincial politicians:
- Joy MacPhail, Leader of the Opposition, will be speaking about the future of the NDP in BC politics. Wednesday, November 7 at 7pm in the Winter Garden.
- Adriane Carr, Leader of the BC Green Party, will be speaking about the future of the Green Party in BC politics. Wednesday, November 14 at 7pm in the Winter Garden.
- Shirley Bond, BC Minister of Advanced Education, will be speaking about the future of advanced education in BC. Friday, November 16 at 1:30pm in the Canfor Theatre.
· The UNBC Anthropology and Economics programs are presenting a public lecture on food policy and food security. "Ending Hunger in Cities: A Green Approach" will be presented by Wayne Roberts, an author of six books and currently the Coordinator of the Toronto Food Policy Council. His talk will be presented on Thursday, November 8, at 7:30pm in Room 7-152.
· The first presentation in a new family-oriented, community lecture series will be on Sunday, November 18th. Anthropology professor Richard Lazenby, forensic odontologist David Hodges, and coroner David Coverdale will be presenting on a topic appropriate for the Halloween season. "Nothing but Bones and Teeth, Mummies or Ashes: Investigating the Unidentified Dead in Northern BC" will explore the world of forensics. The talk will begin at 7pm in Room 7-150.
