The UNBC Archive currently holds collections on northern flora, an early-1900s ledger from a Cariboo gold mine, the entire historical record of the Cassiar mining community, and a genealogical history of the Carrier people.
The University is currently attempting to create a $1.5 million endowment for the ongoing operation of the Archive. The interest generated by the endowment could support a number of annual projects, including outreach with First Nations communities, offering courses on cataloging local history, a travelling exhibit on northern BC artifacts, and an interactive website.
