UNBC Board Of Governors Ratifies Cupe Agreement

The University of Northern British Columbia Board of Governors has unanimously ratified the CUPE Local 3799 contract and the provincial accord agreement that was reached January 31st.

The Board approval follows ratification of the agreement by the Local 3799 members, who voted 93% in favour of the deal in February. The agreement is for three years and is due to expire in March, 2002. The collective agreement includes a general wage increase of 0% in the first year, 0% in the second, and 2% in the final year of the contract. The provincial accord includes provisions on pay equity and benefits.

CUPE Local 3799 represents about 170 support staff at UNBC.
