Scotiamcleod Contributes To UNBC

ScotiaMcLeod Inc is contributing $10,000 to the University of Northern British Columbia to establish the ScotiaMcLeod Matching Grant Bursary Fund.
The $10,000 contribution will be matched by the Provincial Government and the interest from the endowment will support an annual student award of $1000. The bursary will be available to full-time undergraduate students who have achieved a good academic average and have financial need.
ScotiaMcLeod is a subsidiary of Scotiabank, which has previously committed $75,000 for the Scotiabank Endowed Scholarship and Bursary Fund.
UNBC President Charles Jago will accept the contribution at 10am on Wednesday, November 17th at ScotiaMcLeod's offices in Suite 201, 1488 4th Avenue. The media are welcome.
ScotiaMcLeod opened in Prince George in 1996 and provides wealth planning services, retirement planning, mutual funds, and pre-authorized contribution plans. The company's relationship with UNBC goes beyond creating an endowment fund; ScotiaMcLeod is involved in UNBC's co-operative education program.
