Biography
Hello, my name is Michelle. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I have approximately 20 years of experience working in mental health and have been a practicing counsellor since 2017. Theoretical frameworks that I work with are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Attachment-based Approaches, Trauma-informed Practice, Narrative Therapy and Person Centred. I am also in the process of completing a designation of Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapist.
My experience includes a wide range of concerns that include anxiety, depression, anger, grief and loss, trauma, PTSD, panic attacks/disorder, substance use and life transitions.
My goals in session are to create a sense of safety and a space where you and I can connect and build rapport and trust.
My interests include spending time at my lake spot during the summer months where I get to enjoy various water sports, connect with nature and have regular self-care. During the winter months, my self-care includes cross training at her local gym, spending time with family, playing with her cats and enjoying a good book. When opportunity allows it, I enjoy travelling abroad.
