At the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), provisions have been made to support pregnant individuals by providing dedicated parking spaces in close proximity to the campus. Recognizing the unique needs and challenges that pregnant women and pregnant people may face, UNBC has established six designated paid parking spots specifically reserved for them.
These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are clearly indicated by signage, making them easily identifiable and ensuring their availability for those who require them.
- Two spaces are located in Parking Lot A near the Geoffrey R. Weller Library;
- Two spots are situated close to the Research Laboratory and Teaching Laboratory;
- Two spots are located near the main entrance to the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre.
By providing these dedicated paid parking spots, UNBC aims to ensure that pregnant individuals have convenient access to campus facilities, minimizing the distance they need to travel and reducing potential risks or discomfort during their pregnancy.
