Office of the President to Host Free Alex Cuba Concert

Grammy Award-winning musician Dr. Alex Cuba returns to UNBC’s Prince George campus for an intimate concert on November 9th. Known for his blend of Cuban rhythms and contemporary sound, Dr. Cuba continues to inspire with his unique musical style.

Prince George, BC – The University of Northern British Columbia will welcome acclaimed musician Dr. Alex Cuba for a free, intimate concert at the NUSC Event Space/Thirsty Moose on Nov. 9 at 8 p.m.

Presented by the President’s Office, this special event offers attendees a rare opportunity to experience the award-winning artist’s captivating blend of Latin rhythms, pop and soul in a close, personal setting.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Alex Cuba back to UNBC. His music, much like the community we strive to cultivate, embraces diversity and connection. We’re excited for attendees to experience his captivating performance, which reflects the spirit of curiosity and creativity that drives our University,” says UNBC President Dr. Geoff Payne. “This concert will not only showcase his incredible talent but also remind us of the importance of shared experiences in bringing people together.”

Dr. Cuba, a multi-award-winning musician, has earned acclaim for his unique sound that blends Cuban roots with a modern, international appeal. This concert marks his first visit to the campus since he received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from UNBC earlier this year.

“I’m honoured to return to UNBC, a place that holds a special place in my heart,” says Dr. Cuba. “Music has a unique power to bring people together, and I look forward to sharing that connection with the UNBC community during this intimate performance.”

Tickets for the event will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Oct. 10. As this is a free event and tickets are limited, they are expected to go fast.
