The Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Northern British Columbia will host the 2nd annual Faculty of Business and Economics Dinner on Friday, March 14, 2025. David Luba, Head of Partnerships and Co-Founder of tentree and veritree, will deliver the keynote address titled Winning with Climate Solutions: From Planting Trees to Planting Trust.

Luba’s journey as a co-founder of tentree and veritree highlights the potential of innovative business practices to drive meaningful climate action. tentree has planted more than 105 million trees globally, setting a new standard in corporate responsibility. veritree continues this mission by helping businesses integrate verified climate solutions into their models, fostering trust and transparency.

“UNBC’s leadership in sustainability and its focus on cultivating climate-conscious solutions resonate deeply with my work,” said Luba. “I’m looking forward to sharing insights on building restorative business models and engaging with a university that prioritizes environmental stewardship and innovation.”

The Faculty of Business and Economics Dinner began in 2024 to connect students and faculty with community leaders to build a sustainable future. The inaugural event cast the vision for an annual gathering that would bring the community together while fostering meaningful connections with students and faculty.

The evening will feature live jazz music, networking opportunities, a plated dinner and Luba’s keynote address.
