Brownridge Court receives 2024 sport floor of the year award

The next time you step foot on Brownridge Court at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre (NSC), you’ll be stepping on an award-winning surface.

The UNBC Timberwolves in partnership with the University of Northern British Columbia and Titan Sport Systems are honoured to announce that the newly designed Brownridge Court has received the Sport Floor of the Year (SFOY) Award courtesy of Treeco Distribution and Bona Sport.

Originally unveiled in August, the significant refurbishment of the gym floor features the UNBC Timberwolves’ Indigenous logo designed by Gitxsan artist and former UNBC student Trevor Angus. The end result was the byproduct of tremendous passion, attention to detail and tireless hours put forth by many on behalf of UNBC, UNBC Athletics, the City of Prince George and Titan Sport Systems.

The 2024 Competition
This year, seven exceptional projects competed for the title, each project representing the pinnacle of hardwood flooring artistry and the unwavering commitment to excellence. The Grand Prize was a framed portrait of the winning project, engraved with the TREECO and Bona Sport 2024 Grand Prize designation.

From its innovative design to its flawless execution, the project stood out for its clear vision and seamless collaboration between Titan Sport Systems, Bona Sport, and the University of Northern British Columbia.
