Student Life and Orientation would like to welcome all of our new graduate students to UNBC! The Student Life department is working hard to ensure you are well supported in your transition and feel welcome.
Online Orientation
Student Life has created a series of online orientation modules to provide you with information about UNBC, and help you plan your first year as a graduate student.
Follow the instructions below to self-enrol in Online Orientation in Moodle, UNBC's online learning platform. We have created a series of modules with information specific to you as a graduate student and the modules will be available for the entire winter semester. You are welcome to come back and re-watch as often as you like.
To access online orientation:
- Log in to Moodlewith your UNBC user ID and password.
- Click the 'Enrol me' button (as pictured below) to access the modules.
If you have any issues accessing Moodle, please email the IT Service Desk at support@unbc.ca.
Graduate student information session recording
On January 12, 2023, Student Life hosted a Graduate Student Information Session in the Weldwood Lecture Theatre. Peers and UNBC service providers spoke about graduate services offered by the Northern BC Graduate Students’ Society (NBCGSS), Office of the Registrar (Graduate and International), Office of Research and Awards and Financial Aid.

The Student Ambassador Office, located in Room 7-234 will be your welcome and information centre, and campus tour meeting point. Drop in if you have questions for the Student Ambassador team during the year.
Monday, May 1
International Student Orientation
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Join the International Office for an orientation for International students in room 7-150. We are located next door to the International office on Student Services Street.
Wednesday, May 3
Drop-In Social
Time: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Join us in the Doug Little Lounge for pizza, activities, and to meet other new students.
Thursday, May 4
Drop-In Campus Tour
Time: 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
This tour is open to graduate and undergraduate students, though the content will be graduate focused. Participants are asked to meet at the Student Ambassador's Office (7-234, across from the Bookstore) 10 minutes before the tour starts.
Friday, May 5

Time: 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
