Mission
Institutional Research (IR) provides quality information and services that foster and support effective and informed decision-making by the various governing bodies, officers, and administrators of the University.
IR supports the operational efficiency and accountability components of UNBC’s mission.
Goals
IR seeks to:
- Represent an impartial perspective which addresses issues with discretion and thoroughness.
- Provide the highest quality analyses, reports, and presentations that are recognized for their clarity and usefulness, and are tailored to each client.
- Serve as a reliable source of authoritative information about the University.
- Model professional and ethical practices for the management and use of institutional information, and in the conduct of research.
- Provide a friendly, supportive, and collaborative environment for clients and staff.
- Develop a professional, knowledgeable, and competent team.
Clients
- Internal – UNBC Board of Governors, UNBC Senate, administrators, faculty, staff, students, contractors.
- External – public, media, "British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training (BC AEST)", "The Research Universities' Council of British Columbia (RUCBC)", "Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC)", "Statistics Canada".
