Korean Typography Workshop
This one-day workshop introduces students to Korean typography. The unique Korean writing system, Hangul was introduced in the mid- 15th century. Its letters are composed of a combination of lines and circles only, combined to form 12,000-odd phonemes. The typeface represents Korean language and culture, but is also an adaptable means of communication accessible to all.
This course explores the impact of visual communication with a written language by examining its lettering, classifications, and connections. Through lectures, demonstrations, in-class studio work, students should gain an understanding of the design and significance of Hangul.
This course is offered in partnership with OCAD University to offer a wide range of courses for enhancing your career expertise in web, design, photography, analytics, and technology.
