Forest Road Deactivation
Forest Road Deactivation focuses on best practices in road deactivation assessments and prescriptions. Research has shown that many landslides occur due to problems associated with forest road deactivation. This is often a result of using techniques that were unsuitable for the terrain.

This course is recommended for foresters and engineers, technicians, field staff from both government and industry or anyone involved in planning, inspecting, monitoring and supervising forest road deactivation.

About the Instructor
This course is facilitated by Steve Rooke. Steve is a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) in British Columbia with 30 years’ experience in natural resource management and 15 years specifically in engineering. Steve is also an Avenza Beta Tester.

Hard hat, high visibility vest, safety footwear, outdoor-appropriate clothes, notebook, and pens/pencils.
