Finding keys to salmon resiliency through research

Sustainable fish populations depend on resilient ecosystems. With climate change, habitat loss and other environmental pressures posing significant threats to both fish stocks and their habitats, researchers at UNBC’s Quesnel River Research Centre (QRRC) are working to understand the impacts of those pressures on salmon and develop strategies to preserve salmon species for future generations.

UNBC celebrated the promotion of 15 faculty members, including Dr. Indrani Margolin and Dr. Caroline Sanders, who have achieved the rank of full professor.

UNBC Panel Highlights Collective Responsibility in Reconciliation

The UNBC Community came together for a discussion on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. Dr. Daniel Sims discussed UNBC’s progress, followed by a panel that highlighted non-Indigenous responsibilities in advancing reconciliation.

UNBC places second in annual Maclean's rankings

UNBC received high marks in categories related to faculty excellence, research funding and investments in key areas like student services as part of its second overall finish in the Primarily Undergraduate category
