Biography

Becky Stent began working as a Senior Instructor with UNBC's School of Nursing in 2024. She has worked primarily as a home care nurse since 2012 in communities across British Columbia, currently residing and working in Prince George. In addition to home care nursing, Becky has held roles in community development and health promotion, long-term residential care, primary care nursing, and assisting with the COVID-19 pandemic immunization efforts and case and contact management.

Becky completed her Masters of Science in Nursing degree with UNBC, submitting her thesis titled "Structures and Systems in Everyday Home Care Nursing Work: Impacts on Nurse-Patient Relationships from the Patient Perspective". This work used an Institutional Ethnographic methodology and incorporated Patient-Oriented Research approaches. She has worked as a research assistant on numerous projects, including exploring cancer care coordination in the north, and recruitment and retention of nurses in northern BC.
