Park, Dr. Elly
PhD Rehabilitation Sciences (University of Alberta)
Biography
I taught occupational therapy courses for five years at the University of Alberta. My teaching experiences span from introductory anatomy courses and labs, to the capstone critical review project with individual students. I especially enjoy working with smaller seminar groups where students are able to share their experiences and foster learning in an inclusive environment.
I am currently working in Prince George, B.C. as part of the Masters of Occupational Therapy - North program in the Division of Medical Sciences at UNBC.
Research and Expertise
Prior to joining the department, I held postdoctoral fellowships at the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging, where my research covered digital storytelling and dementia, and the Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute, where I investigated the experiences of people living with obesity and osteoarthritis through digital storytelling. I am passionate about social justice and working with marginalized populations.
