Biography

I grew up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and Education is my passion. I have taught in SK, AB, and BC, as well as embraced opportunities that involve educational leadership within a variety of settings. Some of these include a vice principalship, principalships, assistant superintendent, educational facilitator, and program development. What has been most meaningful in my career is working together with students, educators, and future educators. Family is of utmost importance in my life and I have three children, who are all in Education!

Research and Expertise

My current research is based on the inquiry, "How might we learn from Indigenous practices and pedagogy to foster authentic sites of learning and inquiry in schools?" This is of particular interest to me from past educational experiences, and with hope that the future will bring more meaningful educational experiences for all. The research includes examples of pedagogy and practices within an elementary school in Prince George, BC. as it was moving towards Indigenous education. My research interests include Indigenous education, Inclusivity, Experiential Learning, and the importance of Indigenous pedagogies.
